🏈 Homer Raiders Football – 2025 Season Information

We’re excited to kick off the inaugural season for the Homer Raiders on July 14, 2025! Below you’ll find all the important details on practice, games, registration, safety, and required gear.

📍 Practice Schedule & Location

Location: Homer High School Football Fields

• July 14 – August 1: Monday – Friday, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
• August 1 – August 21: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
• August 21 – October 13: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Before Labor Day: Max 2.5 hrs/day & 10 hrs/week
After Labor Day: Max 2 hrs/day & 6 hrs/week

🏟 Game Schedule

• First Games: August 2–3, 2025
• Last Regular Season Games: September 27–28
• Playoffs: October 4–5
• Championship Games: October 12

Most games are held on Saturdays, with some possible weeknight games. Each team plays a minimum of 8 regular season games.

📋 Safety & Eligibility

• 10 hours of no-gear conditioning and 10 hours of padded practice are mandatory before gameplay.
• Weigh-ins are conducted before each game to ensure fairness.
• Mandatory Play Rule (MPR): Guarantees a minimum number of plays for every athlete.
• Academic Eligibility: Players must maintain a 2.0 GPA to participate in games.

💵 Registration Fees

*A non-refundable $50 equipment rental fee applies if gear is needed.

👕 Uniform Fees

• $60 if ordered by June 1, 2025
• $80 if ordered after June 1, 2025

🧰 Equipment Rental & Required Gear

Rental includes: Helmet and Shoulder Pads only

Parents must purchase:

• Girdle (choose one): 7-pad integrated OR 5-pad with separate knee pads
• Knee Pads (if using a 5-pad girdle)
• Mouth Guard with helmet strap
• Football Cleats

💳 Payment Options

• Payment plans available via Sports Connect (with $3.00 fee)
• $30 late fee applies after June 30, 2025
• Family Discount: $50 off for up to 2 participants (auto-applied if registered together)

🧠 Concussion Awareness

All parents, athletes, and volunteers must complete concussion safety training via the CDC’s “Heads Up” program during registration.
